Eastern Christian Publications and Orientale Lumen TeleVision presented a concert tour named “Let the Heavens Rejoice:  Sacred Hymns of the Carpathian Mountains” from September 15 through October 12, 2008.  The Council of Hierarchs of the Byzantine Catholic Church in America gave their blessing and support for this special project.  This concert tour was performed by the seminary choir from the Blessed Theodore Romzha Theological Academy in Uzhorod, Ukraine.

The seminary choir came to America and traveled to Byzantine Catholic parishes from Washington through Pittsburgh and Cleveland, to Chicago then back through northern Pennsylvania to New Jersey, and returned to Washington over a four week period.

At each location, the group performed a concert of sacred music according to the singing tradition of the Carpathian Mountains at Byzantine Catholic parishes in each region.  Each concert included a combination of liturgical selections and hymns in Church Slavonic.  The concerts were free and open to the public, and very generous free-will donations were received that are being sent to support the Seminary.  Divine Liturgies in Church Slavonic were also scheduled at the Pittsburgh, Parma and Passaic Cathedrals on the Sundays during the tour, as well as many parishes.

Recordings of Marian, Eucharistic, and Lenten Hymns, as well as selections from the Divine Liturgy, Vespers, and Panachida, are available for purchase for further fund raising.  Additional donations can be sent to:  Seminary Concert Tour, PO Box 192, Fairfax, VA 22038 with checks made payable to "Seminary Concert Tour."  All net proceeds from the tour are being sent directly to support the seminary in Uzhorod.

In some locations, additional events were scheduled – liturgy, parish dinner, reception, etc. – with the choir members to allow for parishioners and seminarians to have an informal exchange of living experiences.
